| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα διατριβή έχει ως στόχο το σχεδιασμό και υλοποίηση ενός Κεντρικού Συστήματος για τη διαχείριση σχολείων μέσης εκπαίδευσης. Αρχικά, έγινε μελέτη της υπάρχουσας κατάστασης της μέσης εκπαίδευσης στην Κύπρο όπου διαπιστώθηκε η έλλειψη ενός κεντρικού συστήματος διαχείρισης. Η ανάλυση της υφιστάμενης κατάστασης οδήγησε στην προσπάθεια για υλοποίηση ενός κεντρικού διαδικτυακού συστήματος που θα μπορούσε να καλύψει τις βασικές ανάγκες διαχείρισης των σχολείων μέσης εκπαίδευσης.
Κατά τη βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση, διερευνήθηκαν υπάρχοντα πληροφοριακά συστήματα διαχείρισης εκπαιδευτικών ιδρυμάτων. Εξετάστηκαν οι δικλείδες ασφαλείας που θα ήταν αναγκαίο να παρέχει ένα τέτοιο σύστημα, όπως επίσης και τεχνολογίες διαδικτύου και προγραμματιστικών εργαλείων. Πριν το σχεδιασμό του συστήματος, πραγματοποιήθηκε έρευνα στην οποία συμμετείχαν μαθητές, εκπαιδευτικοί και γονείς μαθητών μέσης εκπαίδευσης. Η συλλογή δεδομένων έγινε με τη χρήση διαδικτυακών ερωτηματολογίων (pre-implementation questionnaires).
Στη βάση των αποτελεσμάτων της έρευνας, καθορίστηκαν οι απαιτήσεις του συστήματος. Ακολούθως, τρεις γλώσσες προγραμματισμού (Html, PHP, JavaScript,) χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για το στάδιο της υλοποίησης. Το σύστημα αναπτύχθηκε με χρήση της δημοφιλούς πλατφόρμας προγραμματισμού NetBeans η οποία υποστηρίζει την γλώσσα PHP και την βάση δεδομένων MySQL. Επιπλέον, χρησιμοποιήθηκε και η εφαρμογή phpMyAdmin, η οποία είναι απαραίτητη για τη δημιουργία της βάσης δεδομένων.
Μετά την ολοκλήρωση του συστήματος, οι μαθητές, καθηγητές και γονείς που συμμετείχαν και στην προηγούμενη φάση αξιολόγησαν το σύστημα μέσω της συμπλήρωσης διαδικτυακών ερωτηματολογίων (post-implementation questionnaires). Τα αποτελέσματα υποδεικνύουν ότι το σύστημα που δημιουργήθηκε είναι εύχρηστο και αποδεκτό από τους χρήστες, καλύπτοντας τις προσδιορισμένες απαιτήσεις/ανάγκες τους. Καταληκτικά, το Κεντρικό Σύστημα που δημιουργήθηκε για τη διαχείριση σχολείων μέσης εκπαίδευσης φαίνεται να αποτελεί μια εύχρηστη βάση η οποία προσφέρεται για μελλοντικές βελτιώσεις και επεκτάσεις. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The purpose of the current master thesis is to design and implement a Central System for the management of secondary schools. Initially, a review of the current situation of secondary education in Cyprus was conducted, which revealed the lack of a centralized management system. The analysis of the current situation has led to the design and implementation of a centralized online system that could satisfy the basic needs of secondary schools management.
Existing Education Management Information Systems and Security were explored at first. Countermeasures that would be necessary to provide such a system, as well as web technologies and programming tools were examined. Prior to the design of the system, an exploratory study was conducted, in which secondary school students, teachers and parents participated. An online pre-implementation questionnaire was used to collect the data. Based on the results of the survey, the system requirements were defined, three web programming languages (Html, PHP, JavaScript) were utilised for the implementation stage. The system was developed with the utilisation of the popular programming platform of NetBeans, which supports PHP language and the MySQL database. Last, the phpMyAdmin tool was used, as it is necessary in order to create the database.
Upon implementation, the system was assessed by means of a post-implementation online questionnaire, which was completed by the students, teachers and parents that participated in the pre-implementation study. Results showed that the system was user-friendly and accepted by the users, satisfying their identified needs. In conclusion, the Central System that was developed for the management of secondary schools appears to constitute a useful basis upon which future improvements and extensions may be applied. | el_GR |
