| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα μεταπτυχιακή διατριβή έχει γίνει μελέτη και έρευνα των δημοφιλών ιστοσελίδων αναφορικά με τη χρήση των cookies. Ειδικότερα, βασικός στόχος είναι η μελέτη στο κατά πόσο δημοφιλείς ιστοσελίδες ιδίως στην Κύπρο συμμορφώνονται με την Ευρωπαϊκή Νομοθεσία όσο αφορά την επεξεργασία προσωπικών δεδομένων των χρηστών και την εγκατάσταση και περαιτέρω χρήση των cookies στις συσκευές τους, δίνοντας ή όχι την συγκατάθεση τους σε διάφορες ιστοσελίδες σε σχέση με τα cookies. Οι πληροφορίες οι οποίες αποθηκεύονται με την συγκατάθεση του χρήστη έχουν σχέση με το περιεχόμενο των αναζητήσεων των χρηστών στο διαδίκτυο, τα είδη των ιστοσελίδων που επισκέπτονται, τα προϊόντα που αγοράζουν διαδικτυακά, κ.α. Στο πλαίσιο της παρούσας μελέτης μελετώνται επίσης διάφοροι μηχανισμοί και τεχνολογίες παρακολούθησης των χρηστών κατά την περιήγηση τους σε διάφορους ιστότοπους στο διαδίκτυο. Η έρευνά μας καταδεικνύει ότι, αν και σε γενικές γραμμές, οι ιστοσελίδες δείχνουν ότι προσπαθούν να συμμορφωθούν, εν τούτοις υπάρχει σαφώς περιθώριο βελτίωσης, ιδίως ως προς τη σκοπιά του ότι ο χρήστης πολλές φορές «εξαναγκάζεται» να αποδεχθεί τα cookies, κάτι που σαφώς δεν θα έπρεπε να συμβαίνει. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | This thesis has been a study and research of popular websites regarding the use of cookies. In particular, the main objective is to study whether popular websites, especially in Cyprus, comply with the European Legislation regarding the processing of users’ personal data and the installation and further use of cookies on their devices, with or without their consent to various websites in relation to cookies. The information stored with the user's consent is related to the content of users' internet searches, the types of websites they visit, the products they buy online, etc. In the context of this study, various mechanisms and technologies for tracking users as they browse various websites on the Internet are also studied. Our research shows that, although in general websites seem to be trying to comply, there is clearly room for improvement, especially in the sense that the user is often "forced" to accept cookies, which clearly should not be the case. | el_GR |
