| dc.description.abstract | Ο στόχος αυτής της μεταπτυχιακής διατριβής είναι να μελετηθεί η Performance Art στην Κύπρο σε μια εποχή όπου οι μάσκες πλέον βγαίνουν και ο κόσμος, μετά από δύο χρόνια διακεκομμένου εγκλεισμού και συνεχόμενου φόβου, αφήνεται να κυκλοφορήσει και πάλι χωρίς περιορισμούς. Σε πρώτο στάδιο γίνεται μια ιστορική αναδρομή όπου αναλύεται το πώς οι ρίζες της performance art έχουν διαμορφώσει και έχουν οδηγήσει αυτό το είδος τέχνης να εξελιχθεί σε αυτό που είναι σήμερα. Αναφέρονται κατόπιν θεωρίες από τον Λεβινάς και τον Ντεριντά όπου γίνεται μια σύνδεση της performance art με την ανθρώπινη ευαλωτότητα. Ερευνάται η οπτική μέσα από την οποία διεκπεραιώνεται μια performance art που έχει ως κύριο άξονα την διάδραση με το κοινό και παράμετροι που πιθανόν να επηρεάζουν τους επιτελεστές ως προς τη σύλληψη της θεματολογίας καθώς και τον τρόπο με τον οποίο συμπεριφέρεται και διαδρά το κοινό. Για να εξεταστεί το αν η τέχνη αυτή μπορεί να επηρεάζεται ακόμη και σήμερα από την πανδημία (Covid19), πάρθηκαν συνεντεύξεις από ντόπιους performance artists και αναλύθηκε το πως οι ίδιοι βίωσαν τον Covid19 και πως είναι για τους ίδιους η μετα-Covid εποχή. Ακολούθως, δημιουργήθηκε ένα δρώμενο πειραματικής performance art, στην The O Gallery στην Λάρνακα, βασισμένο σε ένα πίνακα του Αντρέα Καραγιάν από την σειρά IDOLS (1967-68). Μέσω του δρωμένου αυτού παρατηρήθηκε πως η προσέλευση του κόσμου είναι πολύ υψηλότερη της αναμενόμενης, η χρήση μάσκας είναι πλέον μηδενική και το κοινό φτάνει με χαλαρή διάθεση και όρεξη να κοινωνικοποιηθεί. Ο Covid19 μετά από δύο δύσκολα χρόνια έχει πλέον σβήσει, και μια καινούρια εποχή ξεκινά για τον χώρο των τεχνών, γεμάτη ερωτηματικά αλλά και καινούρια θέματα τα οποία αναδύθηκαν μέσα από την εποχή του εγκλεισμού. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The aim of the present study is to examine Performance Art in Cyprus at a time when the masks came off and the world, after two years of intermittent confinement and being in a state of constant fear, is once again allowed to stroll around without any restrictions. Firstly, the historical path of performance art is examined as to observe how the roots of this type of art has been shaped and led to evolve into what it is today. Then theories from Levinas and Derrida prove how performance art and human vulnerability are strongly linked. The perspective through which a performance art that has the interaction with the audience at its core, is carried out and parameters that may influence the performers to the conception of their topic as well as the way in which the audience behaves and interacts is investigated. In order to examine whether this art can still be affected by the pandemic (Covid19), local performance artists were interviewed and analyzed how they experienced Covid19 and what the post-Covid era is like for them. Subsequently, an experimental performance art event was created at The O Gallery in Larnaca, based on a painting of Andreas Karayan from IDOLS series (1967-68). Through this action it is observed that the public’s attendance is much higher than expected, the use of masks is non-existent, and the public arrives with a relaxed mood in need of socializing. Covid19, after two harsh years, has now faded away, and a new era rises for the arts, full of questions and new issues that emerged from the era of confinement. | el_GR |
