| dc.description.abstract | Αντικείμενο μελέτης της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η μελέτη των επιδράσεων της πανδημίας του COVID-19 στον διεθνή και ελληνικό τουρισμό. Προς τον σκοπό αυτό, η παρούσα εργασία ακολουθεί μια συστηματική πορεία από το γενικό προς το ειδικό: Ξεκινά από έναν γενικό ορισμό του τουρισμού, στη συνέχεια δίνει ένα σύντομο ιστορικό της πανδημίας και των επιπτώσεών της στην παγκόσμια οικονομία, ενώ ακολούθως εξετάζει τις ειδικότερες επιπτώσεις της στην παγκόσμια, ευρωπαϊκή και ελληνική τουριστική βιομηχανία. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό εξετάζεται και το ζήτημα των μελλοντικών προοπτικών του διεθνούς, αλλά και ελληνικού τουρισμού. Η εξέταση των δεδομένων οδηγεί στο συμπέρασμα ότι η άνευ προηγουμένου διεθνής υγειονομική κρίση του COVID-19 μεταφράστηκε σε μια αντίστοιχη, πρωτοφανή κρίση και στο πεδίο της τουριστικής βιομηχανίας. Όσο κι αν οι προοπτικές ανάκαμψης από αυτήν μοιάζουν ευοίωνες πλέον λόγω της λήξης της οξείας φάσης της πανδημίας και της άρσης των συνακόλουθων περιορισμών στις μετακινήσεις και τις μεταφορές, θα χρειαστεί ακόμα χρόνος για την πλήρη επιστροφή στην προ της πανδημίας κατάσταση. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The present thesis examines the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic on international and Greek tourism. To this purpose, this examination is systematically moving from the general to the particular: The study starts by giving a general definition of the notion of tourism, it then provides a short account of the pandemic and its impact on global economy and subsequently proceeds to study in more detail its impact on the world, European and Greek tourism industry. Within this context, the thesis addresses also the issue of the future prospects of the world and Greek tourism. The examination of the data leads to the conclusion that the unprecedented international health crisis of COVID-19 led to an equally unprecedented crisis of the tourism industry as well. It is also important to note that no matter how promising the current recovery prospects seem to be after the end of the acute phase of the pandemic and the easement of the lockdown measures, it would take some time for the tourism industry to reach the normal pre-pandemic levels. | el_GR |
