| dc.description.abstract | Οι συνομιλιακοί δείκτες αποτελούν τη γλωσσική κατηγορία γύρω από την οποία στρέφεται το ενδιαφέρον της παρούσας μεταπτυχιακής εργασίας. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, η εν λόγω μεταπτυχιακή εργασία επικεντρώνεται στη μελέτη και εξέταση του συνομιλιακού δείκτη τάχα της Κυπριακής μέσα από καθημερινές συνομιλιακές διεπιδράσεις των φυσικών ομιλητών/τριών της Κυπριακής, αποσκοπώντας στην ερμηνεία του τρόπου λειτουργίας και χρήσης του.
Στο πρώτο και εισαγωγικό μέρος διατυπώνεται το ερευνητικό πρόβλημα και καθορίζεται η αναγκαιότητα και σπουδαιότητα της έρευνας του συνομιλιακού δείκτη τάχα της Κυπριακής. Ειδικότερα, τόσο το περιγραφικό όσο και ερμηνευτικό κενό αναφορικά με τον εν λόγω συνομιλιακό δείκτη καθώς και η ανάγκη μιας ενιαίας ερμηνευτικής αντιμετώπισης των λειτουργιών των συνομιλιακών δεικτών όχι μόνο συνιστούν τα ερευνητικά προβλήματα, αλλά και καθιστούν χρήσιμη και απαραίτητη την εκπόνηση της συγκεκριμένης ερευνητικής εργασίας. Η πραγματική όμως πρόκληση για την πραγματολογική ανάλυση του συνομιλιακού δείκτη τάχα της Κυπριακής είναι η επίτευξη μιας ενιαίας ερμηνευτικής προσέγγισης της πληθώρας των λειτουργιών του. Ως εκ τούτου, η μεταπτυχιακή αυτή εργασία επιχειρεί να προτείνει μια ενιαία σημασιολογική/πραγματολογική ανάλυση των επιφανειακά ποικίλων λειτουργιών του εν λόγω συνομιλιακού δείκτη, στοχεύοντας να εντοπίσει ένα ελάχιστο πυρήνα σημασίας τέτοιο, που να επιτρέπει να συνάγεται το/η κατάλληλα επιδιωκόμενο/η σε κάθε περίπτωση νόημα/συνομιλιακή λειτουργία από τον/την ομιλητή/τρια.
Στο δεύτερο μέρος, όπου προσδιορίζεται το βιβλιογραφικό θεωρητικό πλαίσιο, οριοθετείται η κατηγορία των συνομιλιακών δεικτών, παρατίθενται τα χαρακτηριστικά τους και παρουσιάζονται οι κυριότερες θέσεις δύο θεωρητικών προσεγγίσεων, αυτές της Θεωρίας των Γλωσσικών Πράξεων και της Θεωρίας της Συνάφειας, που θα αποτελέσουν τη βάση για την πραγματολογική ανάλυση του τάχα της Κυπριακής. Η κύρια έμφαση του θεωρητικού μέρους εντοπίζεται στην πραγμάτευση των προτάσεων ανάλυσης των συνομιλιακών δεικτών σύμφωνα με τα πιο πάνω θεωρητικά πλαίσια.
Στο τρίτο μέρος επιλέγεται το τάχα της Κυπριακής και επιχειρείται συστηματική και εις βάθος διερεύνησή του. Σε πρώτο στάδιο, αναφέρονται οι λεξιλογικές και σημασιολογικές περιγραφές του τάχα και στη συνέχεια επιδιώκεται η ένταξή του στην κατηγορία των συνομιλιακών δεικτών. Αναλύεται ακολούθως ο συνομιλιακός δείκτης τάχα της Κυπριακής κάτω από την οπτική της Θεωρίας των Γλωσσικών Πράξεων και της Θεωρίας της Συνάφειας με παράλληλες αναφορές και συγκρίσεις με τον αντίστοιχο συνομιλιακό δείκτη της Κοινής Νέας Ελληνικής. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, ο συνομιλιακός δείκτης τάχα της Κυπριακής εντάσσεται στο πλαίσιο ανάλυσης της Θεωρίας Γλωσσικών Πράξεων, όπου εντοπίζονται διάφορα προβλήματα περιγραφικής και ερμηνευτικής ανεπάρκειας των λειτουργιών του τάχα της Κυπριακής, που οφείλονται στις θεωρητικές γραμμές ανάλυσης της συγκεκριμένης προσέγγισης. Ο συνομιλιακός δείκτης τάχα της Κυπριακής εντάσσεται, μετέπειτα, στο πλαίσιο της Θεωρίας της Συνάφειας όπου εξετάζεται η αληθειακή (truth-condiotional) ή μη υπόστασή του , η συνεισφορά του στη ρητή ή υπόρρητη πλευρά της επικοινωνίας αλλά και η εννοιολογική (conceptual) ή διαδικαστική (procedural) σημασία του.
Στο τέλος, συγκεντρώνονται τα συμπεράσματα της μεταπτυχιακής αυτής εργασίας, όπου και αναδεικνύεται ότι η Θεωρία της Συνάφειας παρέχει μια οικονομική και επαρκώς περιγραφική πραγματολογική ανάλυση για την πληθώρα των λειτουργιών του τάχα της Κυπριακής κάτω από τους άξονες αληθειακή (truth-conditional) ή μη υπόσταση, για τη συνεισφορά του στη ρητή ή υπόρρητη πλευρά της επικοινωνίας αλλά και την εννοιολογική (conceptual) ή διαδικαστική (procredural) του σημασία. Κύριο συμπέρασμα είναι ότι ο ΣΔ τάχα της Κυπριακής μεταφέρει τη βασική πυρηνική σημασία της αμφισβήτησης αναφορικά με τις προθέσεις, στάσεις, συναισθήματα του/της ομιλητή/τριας και χρησιμοποιείται όταν η νοητική πραγματικότητα του/της ομιλητή/τριας δεν συνάδει με την κατάσταση πραγμάτων στον κόσμο. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | This dissertation is concerned with the linguistic class of discourse markers. In particular, it examines and analyses the Greek-Cypriot (GC henceforth) discourse marker “taha” based on informal speech data of Greek-Cypriot native speakers. Its main aim is to interpret the linguistic functions and uses of the GC discourse marker “taha”.
The first and introductory chapter identifies not only the research problem but also the necessity and the significance of the present dissertation. There is a lack of research work on both, descriptive and explanatory levels, concerning the GC discourse marker “taha”. In addition to this, a unitary treatment of the many functions of “taha” establishes the significance and justifies the need for the completion of this dissertation. The real challenge of the pragmatic analysis of the GC discourse marker “taha” is to provide an economical and explanatory approach of the variety of its semantic and pragmatic properties. Hence, this dissertation attempts to propose an economical and unitary semantic/pragmatic analysis of the superficial variety of functions of the specific GC discourse marker, aiming at pointing out the minimum semantic content of “taha” that allows the speaker to deduce, in each case, the appropriate meaning/conversational function.
The second chapter discusses the literature review where the linguistic class of discourse markers is defined, their features are specified and the basic tenets of two theoretical frameworks, Speech Act Theory and Relevance Theory, are illustrated. The main focus of the literature review is on highlighting the key points that should be taken into account for conducting a pragmatic analysis of the discourse markers within the above mentioned theoretical frameworks.
In the third chapter the GC marker “taha” is systematically and in depth investigated according to the speech-act and relevance-theoretic framework. Firstly, the lexical and semantic properties of “taha” are described and secondly its classification into the linguistic category of discourse markers is attempted. GC “taha” does not only have evidential and/or hearsay properties but it has many additional functions. Moreover, the GC discourse marker “taha” is explored within the speech-act and relevance-theoretic framework parallel and in comparison with the accordingly Modern Greek discourse marker. To specify this, the GC discourse marker “taha” is examined and analyzed within a speech-act framework where several problems are encountered concerning the descriptive and explanatory aspects of its functions. These problems are derived from the theoretical guidelines that speech-act theory proposes. Furthermore, the GC discourse marker “taha” is investigated within the relevance-theoretic framework where the truth-conditional or non-truth conditional status of “taha” is been treated alongside with its contribution to the explicit or implicit aspect of communication or whether it encodes conceptual or procedural information.
In the last chapter the conclusions of the present dissertation are discussed indicating that Relevance theory provides an economical and adequately descriptive pragmatic analysis which explains all the different functions of the GC discourse marker “taha”. That is because the relevance-theoretic framework, not only, makes use of distinctions such as truth-conditional and non-truth conditional, explicit or implicit aspect of communication, conceptual or procedural meaning, but also examines on which side of them the discourse markers fall. The main claim of this dissertation is that the GC discourse marker “taha” conveys the basic semantic content of impeachment expressing the attitude or feelings of the speaker that dissociate him/her from the proposition expressed. That is why it is used when the mental representation of the speaker is not compatible with the state of affairs in real world. | el_GR |
