| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα διατριβή έχει σαν κεντρικό θέμα την κριτική θεώρηση της γέννησης, και της εξελικτικής πορείας του θεσμού των μουσείων στην Ελλάδα. Εστιάζουμε στα αρχαιολογικά μουσεία, και εξετάζουμε εκ παραλλήλου και συγκριτικά το Εθνικό Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο (εφεξής ΕΑΜ), και το Νέο Μουσείο Ακρόπολης (εφεξής ΝΜΑ). Ο θεσμός του μουσείου εξετάζεται αρχικά μέσα από τις διαδικασίες διαμόρφωσής του στην Δυτική Ευρώπη, από τα μέσα του 18ου αιώνα. Παρουσιάζονται οι διεργασίες μετατροπής μιας ιδιωτικής φύσης δραστηριότητας σε μια δομή υπό κρατική αιγίδα που εξυπηρετεί και ενισχύει την εθνική ταυτότητα του κάθε έθνους, ενώ λειτουργεί συνάμα και ως χώρος προβολής αισθητικών προτύπων και αντίστοιχων αντιλήψεων. Παρουσιάζεται το χρονικό ίδρυσης και λειτουργίας των μουσειακών υποδομών στην Ελλάδα, η οποία είναι αρχικά άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένη με την αναγκαιότητα φύλαξης και διατήρησης των κινητών μνημείων του παρελθόντος. Σταδιακά, η ύπαρξη των μουσείων σχετίστηκε άμεσα με τις εθνικές επιδιώξεις και κυρίαρχες ιδεολογίες, με την ενίσχυση της εθνικής ταυτότητας και με τη συμβολή στην βελτίωση της εικόνας της πόλης. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | This master thesis has as main subject the critical view of the birth and the evolution of the institution of museums in Greece. We are focusing at the archaeological museums and looking into parallel and comparing the National Archaeological Museum (as of now EAM) and the New Acropolis Museum (as of now NMA). The institution of museum is examined in first place through the procedures of its configuration in Western Europe at the second half of 18th century. We present the processes of the transformation of a private activity into a structure under the state aid that serves and strengthens the national identity of each nation while it functions as a space for the protection of aesthetic standards and equivalent concepts. We present the chronicle of the establishment and function of the museums in Greece which is in first place indissolubly connected with the need to preserve and maintain the movable monuments of the past. Gradually, the existence of museums was directly linked to national aspirations and major ideologies as well as to the strengthening of national identity and by helping the improvement of the image of the city. | el_GR |
