| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα πτυχιακή εργασία εξετάζει τους παράγοντες και τις ιδιάζουσες συνθήκες, οι οποίες ωθούν την Πολιτιστική Πολιτική στη χρήση του πολιτισμού ως καταλύτη στην Αστική Αναβίωση και ως μιας νέας μορφής επιχειρηματικότητας εντός της πόλης. Συγκεκριμένα, εξετάζεται η συνεισφορά του πολιτισμού στην αναζωογόνηση και στην αναβίωση της πόλης και οι πολιτικές, που εφαρμόζονται προς αυτήν την κατεύθυνση. Εξετάζεται, παράλληλα, η άλλη όψη του νομίσματος: η διασύνδεση της αστικής αναβίωσης με αιχμή τον πολιτισμό με την πρακτική του εξευγενισμού, την προώθηση των συμφερόντων του κεφαλαίου και τις πρακτικές της κόκκινης γραμμής. Στο πλαίσιο του θεσμού της Πολιτιστικής Πρωτεύουσας της Ευρώπης εξετάζεται η περίπτωση της Γλασκώβης και η περίπτωση του Λίβερπουλ καθώς και η σύγχρονη Πολιτιστική Πολιτική σε επίπεδο Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Η εκπόνηση της μεταπτυχιακής εργασίας βασίστηκε στη βιβλιογραφική έρευνα/επισκόπηση και στην περιγραφική έρευνα/περιπτωσιολογική μελέτη. Ως μελέτη-περίπτωσης έχει επιλεγεί η Πάφος, η οποία ως Πολιτιστική Πρωτεύουσα της Ευρώπης το 2017, εφαρμόζει μια διαδικασία αστικής αναβίωσης με αιχμή τον πολιτισμό. Ιδιαίτερη βαρύτητα έχει δοθεί στις επιπτώσεις του διαφαινόμενου μετασχηματισμού και τις προοπτικές εξέλιξης της πόλης. Συμπεραίνεται ότι δημιουργούνται οι κατάλληλες προϋποθέσεις για την οικονομική, κοινωνική, πολιτιστική και περιβαλλοντική/φυσική πρόοδο της πόλης μέσω και της εισήγησης για την εφαρμογή και ανάπτυξη παράλληλων δράσεων, με σκοπό την άμβλυνση χωροταξικών και κοινωνικών ζητημάτων. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | This dissertation examines the factors and particular circumstances which drive Cultural Policy into utilizing culture as a catalyst in the sphere of Urban Regeneration and as a new form of entrepreneurship within a city. Specifically the contribution made by culture towards the revival and revitalization of a city will be examined and the policies applied towards this direction. The other side of the same coin will also be examined, that of the connection of culture-led regeneration through the use of gentrification, the promotion of interests of capitalism and redlining. In the framework of the institution of the European Capital of Culture, the case of Glasgow and Liverpool will be examined, as well as modern Cultural Policy in relation to the European Union. The composition of this dissertation was based on bibliographic and survey research and additionally on descriptive research and case study. The city of Paphos was chosen as a case study for comparison, as it will be the European Capital of Culture in 2017 and the city itself implements a culture-led regeneration approach. Particular attention has been given on the effects of this perceived transformation and on the prospects of the city. It can be concluded that suitable conditions are created in relation to the economic, social, cultural and environmental/physical progress of the city through the recommendation and employment of parallel activities with the intent of easing of spatial and social issues within the city. | el_GR |
