| dc.description.abstract | Στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία αρχικά έγινε βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση ως προς τους υδρογονάνθρακες για το στάδιο της ανίχνευσης και της παραγωγής τους. Επιπρόσθετα παρουσιάζεται η ιστορική αναδρομή της τιμής του αργού πετρελαίου και από ποιους παράγοντες επηρεάζεται. Ακόμη γίνεται αναφορά για την παραγωγή και την κατανάλωση αργού πετρελαίου παγκοσμίως και ποιες είναι οι προβλέψεις περί κορύφωσης της πετρελαϊκής παραγωγής.
Επιπλέον, παρουσιάζεται μια εκτενής ανάλυση ως προς το ρόλο του αργού πετρελαίου ως γεωστρατιγικός πόρος και αναλύονται τα πολιτικό-οικονομικά μοντέλα που ακολούθησαν ορισμένες από τις μεγαλύτερες πετρελαιοπαραγωγούς χώρες παγκοσμίως ως προς τα δημόσια οφέλη.
Το κύριο κομμάτι της διατριβής βασίζεται στην ανάλυση ωφέλειας κόστους, όπου παρουσιάστηκε αρχικά το θεωρητικό κομμάτι της ανάλυσης και οι διάφοροι τρόποι εφαρμογής της. Στο τελευταίο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζεται η μελέτη περίπτωση εγκατάστασης μονάδας παραγωγής υγροποιημένου φυσικού αερίου στην Κύπρο. Παρουσιάζονται τρία σενάρια στα οποία εφαρμόστηκε το οικονομικό μοντέλο των προεξοφλημένων ταμειακών ροών καθώς και η ανάλυση ευαισθησίας των πιο κύριων παραμέτρων του. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | This thesis presents a thorough literature review on hydrocarbons regarding the process of detection and exploitation of them. Furthermore, an extensive historic background on crude oil prices is given, along with the impact of price fluctuations on supply and demand, while the factors affecting crude oil price are presented. Moreover, it is presented the production and consumption of crude oil worldwide and what are the predictions regarding the hydrocarbon depletion.
A comprehensive analysis of the role of crude oil as geostrategic resource is, also, presented, including the analysis of the political-economic model which was followed by some of the largest oil producing countries worldwide in terms of public benefits.
The main subject of the thesis is based on cost-benefit analysis. At first the theoretical part is presented and then the various ways of its application. The last chapter presents the case study of an LNG plant in Cyprus. Finally, the economic model of discounted cash flows was applied for three scenarios and the sensitivity analysis of most significant parameters is presented. | el_GR |
