| dc.description.abstract | Ένα νέο κομμάτι οικονομικού ενδιαφέροντος έχει αναπτυχθεί γύρω από το Internet και τους
τρόπους που αυτό μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί ώστε να προκύψουν νέες μέθοδοι δημιουργίας
κέρδους όσον αφορά τον τομέα των υπηρεσιών. Υπό αυτήν την σκέψη γεννήθηκε το "Internet of
Services" που αποτελεί ένα οικοσύστημα ηλεκτρονικών υπηρεσιών και προσδοκά να
διευκολύνει την αναζήτηση και την κατανάλωση τους. Αυτό μπορεί να γίνει πραγματικότητα με
την υιοθέτηση ενός κοινού προτύπου περιγραφής και μοντελοποίησης υπηρεσιών που θα
επιτρέπει τη διευκόλυνση της αναζήτησης, της επιλογής και της σύνθεσής τους. Έχουν προταθεί
αρκετές λύσεις που αναλαμβάνουν να περιγράψουν τα τεχνικά χαρακτηριστικά ηλεκτρονικών
υπηρεσιών, αλλά αυτά είναι μόνο ένα κομμάτι από το σύνολο της πληροφορίας που
χρειαζόμαστε ώστε να λειτουργήσει ικανοποιητικά το "Internet of Services".
Την ανάγκη αυτή έρχεται να καλύψει η Unified Service Description Language (USDL) που
αναλαμβάνει να δημιουργήσει περιγραφές των υπηρεσιών που θα αναδεικνύουν τα
επιχειρηματικά, λειτουργικά και τεχνικά χαρακτηριστικά τους. Η USDL αποσκοπεί στην
αυτοματοποίηση των διαδικασιών (αναζήτηση, επιλογή και σύνθεση) μέσα από την
προτυποποίηση των περιγραφών των ηλεκτρονικών υπηρεσιών. Αυτό αναλαμβάνουμε να
παρουσιάσουμε μέσα από τη συγκεκριμένη διπλωματική διατριβή, παρουσιάζοντας τις
μεθόδους της USDL και δημιουργώντας μια περίπτωση χρήσης μιας εταιρείας η οποία
ενδιαφέρεται να χρησιμοποιήσει μια ηλεκτρονική υπηρεσία για να καλύψει τις ανάγκες της. Από
την ανάπτυξη και ανάλυση αυτών των χαρακτηριστικών σκοπός είναι να φανεί η πληρότητα της
USDL μέσα από τη σύγκριση με υπάρχουσες γλώσσες περιγραφής ηλεκτρονικών υπηρεσιών, η
ικανότητά της να αποτελέσει το νέο πρότυπο στον συγκεκριμένο τομέα ενδιαφέροντος αλλά και
να επισημανθούν πιθανές ελλείψεις που παρουσιάζει με σκοπό τη βελτίωσή της. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | A new economic interest has developed around the Internet and the way that it can be used to
create new opportunities of profit creation in the field of service sector. Under this thought the
"Internet of Services" was conceived and constitutes an ecosystem of electronic services that is
expected to facilitate their trade and consumption. The way for this to become reality is by
creating a standard of describing and modeling services that will facilitate their search, selection
and composition. A lot of approaches have been proposed in order to describe the technical
characteristics of web services but these are only a small part from the information needed in
order for the "Internet of Services" to succeed.
Unified Service Description Language (USDL) comes in to fulfill this need and to create
descriptions of services that will expose their business, functional and technical characteristics.
USDL aims on the automation of processes (search, selection and composition) through
standardization of the web services’ descriptions. These are the points that we want to emphasize
through this thesis by presenting the USDL methods and by creating a Use Case of a company who
wants to use an electronic service in order to achieve its goals. Through the development and
analysis of these characteristics, we will demonstrate the completeness of USDL by comparing it
with other service description languages and its ability to become the new standard in this specific
field but also to identify possible shortcomings in order to improve USDL. | el_GR |
