| dc.description.abstract | Σκοπός της μελέτης είναι η διεξαγωγή έρευνας για τους φοιτητές που σπουδάζουν με τη μεθοδολογία της Εξ Αποστάσεως Εκπαίδευσης ώστε να σκιαγραφήσει το προφίλ τους και να αναγνωρίσει τους λόγους για τους οποίους επιλέγουν τη συγκεκριμένη μεθοδολογία και τα κίνητρα που τους ωθούν σε σπουδές εξ αποστάσεως. Η μελέτη εστιάζει πάνω στα χαρακτηριστικά των φοιτητών του Ανοικτού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου, το οποίο αποτελεί και τη μελέτη της περίπτωσης της. Επιχειρεί να αντιπαραβάλει τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας με την αποστολή του Ανοικτού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου ώστε να αξιολογήσει το κατά πόσο αυτή συνάδει με τις επιδιώξεις και τα χαρακτηριστικά των φοιτητών. Στόχος είναι, το Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο να αξιοποιήσει αυτά τα αποτελέσματα ώστε να προσαρμόσει τις ενέργειες του με τρόπο που να διευκολύνει την υλοποίηση της αποστολής του. Για τη διεξαγωγή της μελέτης έγινε ανασκόπηση της βιβλιογραφίας και αρθρογραφίας στην Εξ Αποστάσεως Εκπαίδευση και την Ηλεκτρονική μάθηση ειδικά σε θέματα που αφορούν την διάγνωση του προφίλ των φοιτητών της Εξ Αποστάσεως Μάθησης ως προς τα δημογραφικά και άλλα χαρακτηριστικά τους. Στη βάση αυτής της ανασκόπησης ετοιμάστηκε ερωτηματολόγιο με το οποίο διεξήχθη η έρευνα, η οποία απευθυνόταν σε όλους τους μέχρι τώρα αποφοίτους και υφιστάμενους φοιτητές του Ανοικτού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου για να το συμπληρώσουν εθελοντικά. Η έρευνα διενεργήθηκε με τη συμπλήρωση ηλεκτρονικού ερωτηματολογίου μέσω διαδικτύου. Στη συνέχεια αναλύθηκαν τα δεδομένα της έρευνας με ανάλυση συχνοτήτων, περιγραφική στατιστική και πίνακες διασταύρωσης παραμέτρων. Εξετάστηκε κατά πόσο τα αποτελέσματα συνάδουν με την αποστολή του Ανοικτού Πανεπιστημίου και εξήχθηκαν σχετικά συμπεράσματα. Στη βάση των συμπερασμάτων έγιναν εισηγήσεις για ενδεχόμενες ωφέλιμες προσαρμογές και σχετικές ενέργειες του Πανεπιστημίου. Τέλος έγιναν εισηγήσεις για μελλοντικές βελτιώσεις στην παρούσα μελέτη, τρόπους αξιοποίησης των συμπερασμάτων της και άλλες συναφείς μελέτες που μπορεί να αποβούν ωφέλιμες για την Εξ Αποστάσεως Μάθηση στο Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The purpose of this study is to conduct a survey about the students attending Distance Learning in order to outline their profile and to identify the reasons for choosing the specific methodology and the motives that led them to distance learning. The study focuses on the characteristics of the students of the Open University of Cyprus, which serves as a case study. It attempts to contrast the results of the survey with Mission of the Open University of Cyprus, in order to asses whether this is consistent with the goals and the characteristics of the students. The objective is for the Open University to utilize these results in order to adjust its actions in a manner that will facilitate the implementation of its Mission. To conduct the study, relative literature review was conducted, in the fields of Distance Education and E-Learning, particularly in subjects relating to the identification of the students profile in Distance Learning with respect to their demographic and other characteristics. Based on this review, a questionnaire was prepared which was used to conduct the survey, which targeted all the graduates and current students of the Open University of Cyprus, to be completed voluntarily. The survey was conducted via online electronic questionnaire. The survey data was analyzed via frequency analysis, descriptive statistics and cross tabulations. The results were examined in respect to whether they are consistent with the mission of the Open University, and relevant conclusions were drawn. The conclusions then became the basis for possible beneficial suggestions and relevant actions on behalf of the University. The study conducted with suggestions for future improvements in this study, identification of means of exploring its conclusions and suggestions of other relevant studies that may prove useful for Distance Learning at the Open University of Cyprus. | el_GR |
