| dc.description.abstract | Κατά τους αιώνες που συγκροτούν τη μέση βυζαντινή περίοδο (8ος-12ος) πολλά είναι τα αγιολογικά κείμενα που αφιερώθηκαν σε γυναίκες αγίες. Τα κείμενα αυτά αναδεικνύουν διαφορετικές εκφάνσεις της γυναικείας αγιότητας προβάλλοντας πρότυπα όπως της γυναίκας που γίνεται μάρτυρας της πίστης, εκείνης που εγκαταλείπει την οικογένεια για να καταφύγει σε μοναστήρι, ή ακόμα εκείνης που «μαρτυρεί» μέσα στον έγγαμο βίο ως θύμα της συζυγικής βίας. Σκοπός της εργασίας αυτής είναι να μελετήσει αυτές τις διαφορετικές πτυχές και να παρουσιάσει τις σχέσεις που έχουν μεταξύ τους ώστε να αναδείξει τον ιδιαίτερο χαρακτήρα της γυναικείας αγιολογίας στη μέση βυζαντινή περίοδο.
Στόχος της εργασίας είναι η ανάλυση των κειμένων αυτών δίνοντας κυρίως έμφαση στα λογοτεχνικά μέσα με τα οποία οι συγγραφείς προσπαθούν να αφηγηθούν την ιστορία και τις περιπέτειες τέτοιων γυναικών αγίων.
Στο πρώτο μέρος γίνεται αναφορά στο βίο των αγίων Θεοδώρα της Θεσσαλονίκης, της Μαρίας της Νέας, της Θεοκτίστης της Μηθυμναίας, της Θωμαίδας της Λέσβιας και της Ειρήνης Χρυσοβαλάντου και των θαυμάτων αυτών ενώ στο δεύτερο μέρος αναλύουμε τη λογοτεχνικότητα κάθε βιογραφίας. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | During the centuries that make up the middle Byzantine period (8th-12th A.D.) there are many hagiological texts dedicated to female saints. These texts highlight different manifestations of female sanctity, projecting models such as the woman who becomes a martyr to the faith, the one who abandons the family to take refuge in a monastery, or even the one who "becomes a martyr" in married life as a victim of domestic violence. The purpose of this work is to study these different aspects and to present the correlations that might be present between them to highlight the special character of female hagiology in the middle Byzantine period.
The aim of the work is the analysis of these texts, mainly emphasizing the literary means by which the authors try to narrate the history and adventures of such female saints.
In the first part, there is a reference to the life of Saints Theodora of Thessaloniki, Mary the Younger, Theoctisti of Mithymna, Thomaida of Lesvos and Irene, Abbess of Chrysovalanto Monastery, and the miracles of each one, while in the second part we analyze the literary nature of each biography. | el_GR |
