| dc.description.abstract | Η πανδημία, COVID-19 είχε άμεση και βαθιά επίδραση στις κοινωνίες και έφερε την κοινωνική και οικονομική ζωή σε αδιέξοδο. Παράλληλα, απαίτησε προσαρμογές των συστημάτων υγείας των χωρών και προέτρεψε την πρωτοβάθμια και δευτεροβάθμια περίθαλψη να ανταποκριθούν στις προκλήσεις στις νέες ανάγκες και απαιτήσεις υγείας, αλλάζοντας την οργάνωση και τις διαδικασίες ταχύτερα από ποτέ. Σε αυτή τη μελέτη ερευνήθηκαν οι ανάγκες στα Νοσοκομεία και συζητήθηκαν επιπρόσθετα μέτρα που πρέπει να εφαρμοστούν για την ομαλή λειτουργία τους. Επίσης σκοπός ήταν να εντοπιστούν οι αναπροσαρμογές που χρειάζεται να γίνουν για να μπορέσουν να ανταπεξέλθουν στις απαιτήσεις και στο αυξημένο φόρτο εργασίας εν μέσω πανδημίας. Η έρευνα ήταν συγχρονική και πραγματοποιήθηκε με την χρήση ερωτηματολόγιου που απαντήθηκε από 100 νοσηλευτές διαδικτυακά. Σύμφωνα με τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας η πανδημία έχει επηρεάσει τη Δευτεροβάθμια φροντίδα υγείας στην Κύπρο και πως η απόκριση ήταν επαρκής. Βρέθηκαν μικρά προβλήματα όπως συντονισμού των μονάδων, προβλήματα κατά την αλλαγή βάρδιας και οι νοσηλευτές δεν ένιωθαν πως συμμετείχαν ενεργά στη διαδικασία λήψης αποφάσεων σχετικά με την αναδιοργάνωση των δραστηριοτήτων φροντίδας λόγω COVID-19. Τα κυριότερα θέματα σχετίζονται με τον αυξημένο φόρτο εργασίας και στο ότι η ασθένεια είναι νέα και οι προηγούμενες γνώσεις για αυτήν είναι ελάχιστες. Πάντα υπάρχει χώρος για βελτίωση και έχουν συζητηθεί αρκετοί τρόποι βελτίωσης των προβλημάτων που έχουν διαφανεί. Αρκετά προβλήματα δεν μπορούν να αντιμετωπιστούν άμεσα από τους νοσηλευτές αλλά χρειάζονται δράσεις από την πλευρά της ηγεσίας σαν ηγεσία μονάδας ή σαν ηγεσία ολόκληρου του συστήματος υγείας. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The COVID-19 pandemic has had a direct and profound impact on societies and brought social and economic life to a standstill. At the same time, it demanded adjustments to countries' health systems and urged primary and secondary care to respond to the challenges of new health needs and requirements, changing the organization and procedures faster than ever before. In this study, the needs of hospitals were investigated and additional measures to be implemented for their smooth operation were discussed. The aim was also to identify the adjustments that need to be made in order to be able to cope with the demands and the increased workload in the midst of the pandemic. The survey was cross-sectional and was conducted using a questionnaire answered by 100 nurses online. According to the results of the survey, the pandemic has affected secondary health care in Cyprus and that the response has been adequate. Minor problems were found such as unit coordination, problems during shift change, and nurses did not feel actively involved in the decision-making process regarding the reorganization of care activities due to COVID-19. The main issues are related to the increased workload and the fact that the disease is new and previous knowledge about it is minimal. There is always room for improvement and several ways to improve the problems that have emerged have been discussed. Several problems cannot be tackled directly by the nurses but they need actions on the part of the leadership as a unit leadership or as the leadership of the entire health system. | el_GR |
