| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα μεταπτυχιακή διατριβή διερευνά τις στάσεις απέναντι στον μη κυριολεκτικό υποκορισμό της Κοινής Νέας Ελληνικής, ως μέρος της γλωσσικής ευγένειας. Συγκεκριμένα, διερευνά τον μη κυριολεκτικό υποκορισμό στα αιτήματα. Η διατριβή επικεντρώνεται ερευνητικά γύρω από τα εξής θέματα: (α) την επίδραση του υποκορισμού με επιθηματοποίηση και την επίδραση του υποκορισμού με το μη ποσοτικό επίρρημα λίγο στη γλωσσική ευγένεια· (β) τη σύγκριση των δύο μορφών του υποκορισμού· και (γ) την επίδραση της απειλητικότητας, της οικειότητας και του φύλου. Το μοντέλο των Brown & Levinson χρησιμοποιήθηκε ως θεωρητικό υπόβαθρο. Η έρευνα ήταν ποσοτική και η συλλογή δεδομένων έγινε με ερωτηματολόγια. Τα ερωτηματολόγια περιελάμβαναν δεκαέξι σενάρια με εκφωνήματα, με ή χωρίς υποκορισμό, και δέκα χαρακτηρισμούς για κάθε εκφώνημα. Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν 59 άτομα, 30 άνδρες και 29 γυναίκες. Η μεταπτυχιακή διατριβή αποτελείται από πέντε κεφάλαια. Το πρώτο εισαγωγικό κεφάλαιο αποτελείται από την παρουσίαση του θέματος, τους σκοπούς της έρευνας και μία ανασκόπηση της προϋπάρχουσας βιβλιογραφίας. Το δεύτερο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζει τη μεθοδολογία που χρησιμοποιήθηκε για τη διεξαγωγή της έρευνας. Στο τρίτο κεφάλαιο, παρουσιάζονται τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας. Στο τέταρτο κεφάλαιο αναλύονται και ερμηνεύονται τα πιο σημαντικά αποτελέσματα και επιχειρείται συσχετισμός τους με τα αρχικά ερευνητικά ερωτήματα. Τέλος, το τελευταίο κεφάλαιο αποτελεί μία ανακεφαλαίωση των κυριότερων συμπερασμάτων της έρευνας.

| dc.description.translatedabstract | This MA dissertation investigates the attitudes towards the non-literal diminution of Modern Greek, within the framework of linguistic politeness. Specifically, it investigates the non-literal diminution in requests. This dissertation focuses on the following research topics: (i) the influence of the diminution via suffixation and the influence of the diminution with the non-quantifying adverb liγo on linguistic politeness; (ii) the comparison of the two kinds of diminution; and (iii) the influence of imposition, familiarity and gender. The model of Brown & Levinson for linguistic politeness was used as a theoretical basis. The research was quantitative and the research data was collected through questionnaires. The questionnaires included sixteen topics with utterances, with or without diminution, and ten characterizations for each utterance. Fifty-nine persons participated at the research, 30 men and 29 women. The MA dissertation consists of five chapters. The first introductory chapter consists of the research topic’s presentation, the goals of the research and a review of the existing literature. The second chapter presents the method used for the research. In the third chapter, the results of the research are presented. In the fourth chapter the most important results are analysed and interpreted with reference to the initial questions. Finally, the last chapter constitutes a recapitulation of the main conclusions of the research. | el_GR |
