| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα εργασία πραγματεύεται το αίσθημα του πόνου, όπως γίνεται αντιληπτό μέσα στις τραγωδίες του Σοφοκλή. Ο πόνος ορίζεται και αναλύεται με εστίαση τόσο στη σωματική όσο και στην ψυχική του διάσταση μέσω της μελέτης των κεντρικών σοφόκλειων ηρώων, έχοντας ως δεδομένο πως ο πόνος αποτελεί ένα διαχρονικό φαινόμενο. Η ανθρώπινη αυτή αίσθηση εξετάζεται μέσα από το πρίσμα της γλώσσας και του φύλου. Η γλώσσα εν μέρει καθορίζει τον τρόπο έκφρασης αλλά και το είδος του πόνου που βιώνουν οι πρωταγωνιστές. Παράλληλα, τίθεται υπό εξέταση ο διαφορετικός τρόπος που οι άνδρες και οι γυναίκες πονούν και βέβαια ο χώρος μέσα στον οποίο εκφράζουν αυτό το βίωμα. Ο Φιλοκτήτης του Σοφοκλή ξεχωρίζει από τις υπόλοιπες τραγωδίες γιατί εκθέτει ένα διαφορετικό είδος πόνου. Ένα ψυχο - σωματικό φαινόμενο που σήμερα εξετάζεται ιατρικά σε ειδικά διαμορφωμένους χώρους, παρουσιάζεται εδώ από τον Σοφοκλή. Ο χρόνιος πόνος, μια διαφορετική μορφή πόνου, γίνεται ο κεντρικός άξονας της τραγωδίας η οποία κινείται στους ρυθμούς έντασης της αίσθησης αυτής του κεντρικού ήρωα. Μέσα από το βίωμα αυτό, η γλώσσα αλλάζει, πολλές φορές χάνεται και άλλοτε περιγράφει την απόλυτη υποδούλωση του κεντρικού ήρωα σε αυτή την επώδυνη εμπειρία. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | This is a study of Sophoclean tragedies that investigates the expression of pain. Specifically, this study is about the linguistic dimension of pain, as a human experience studied through the physical and the psychological aspects of the heroes and the heroines of the Sophoclean tragedies. Language and gender play a major role in this phenomenon. Heroes and Heroines express their painful experience differently and society has equally an effect in their expression of this feeling.
Special emphasis is laid on Philoctetes a tragedy that differs from the others since the hero reacts in a variety of ways every time he is tormented. A psycosomatic phenomenon that nowadays is examined by medicine, is clearly exposed in this Sophoclean tragedy. Chronic pain, a peculiar form of pain, provides the foundation for the construction of Philoctetes᾽ experience. The dramatic power of this tragedy rests on the tension of the painful experience, since the hero reacts each time to it in a different way. This experience also shapes language in its own way: it is either utterly absent at times or it deploys a distinctive vocabulary in order to relate specific aspects of pain. | el_GR |
