Η εργασία κλείνει με την εισήγηση μιας αναδιαρθρωμένης πολιτιστικής πολιτικής βασισμένης σε ένα μεικτό μοντέλο πολιτιστικής πολιτικής όσον αφορά το ρόλο του κράτους και τη χρηματοδότηση, η οποία ανταποκρίνεται στις σύγχρονες συνθήκες. dc.description.translatedabstractThe current dissertation examines the cultural policy in Cyprus, a state with strict hierarchical structures that has only been recently founded over a brief time span of fifty-six years since its initial establishment as a democratic state. For the undertaking of this literary work, as a master’s dissertation, a plethora of bibliographic research, a review of international bibliography and the qualitative approach were utilized in the examination of a specific case study. The particularities of the Cultural Policy of Cyprus lay to a certain extent to its history of long term struggle for the creation of an ethnic identity and its preservation of that in a society that is politically, ethnically and religiously divided whilst shortly after its establishment as a democracy, the barbaric loss of territorial land and with it its cultural heritage. These were the first two explicit and composed objectives of the state policy on culture by the newly established republic. In this dissertation, the creation of this modern cultural policy of Cyprus will be examined and additionally its influences upon it which are derived mainly from western European cultural policies. However the question remains whether Cyprus has a coordinated cultural policy or one that is superficially influenced by that of European policies. The dissertation concludes with the suggestion of a restructured cultural policy based on an aggregated cultural policy model in relation to the role of the state and finances, in response to the modern conditions that may arise and affect it.
