| dc.description.abstract | Το ζήτημα της σύγκλισης των δαπανών υγείας ανάμεσα στις χώρες μέλη της Ευρωπαικής Ενωσης παρουσιάζει ενδιαφέρον, καθώς προχωράει η οικονομική ολοκληρωση και εντείνονται οι προσπαθειες των χωρών για μεγαλύτερη εμβάθυνση της ενοποίησης. Στην παρούσα εργασία εξετάζεται το ζήτημα αυτό και με την εφαρμογή της κατάλληλης μεθοδολογίας γίνεται η διερεύνηση κατά πόσο συγκίνουν οι δαπάνες υγείας ως ποσοστό του ΑΕΠ και ως κατα κεφαλήν στις χώρες μέλη της ΕΕ-15 για την χρονική περίοδο 1970-2008. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The issue of convergence of health expenditure among countries of the European Union has attracted interest, as economic integration advances and efforts of countries for deeper integration are intensified. The present study focused on this issue and, by applying the proper methodology, tried to investigate the convergence hypothesis of health expenditure as a percentage of GDP and per capita in countries of the EU-15 for the period 1970 to 2008. The investigation was made in light of the classical approach to convergence analysis, i.e. to investigate the ζ-convergence and β-convergence. By ζ-convergence we mean a reduction of standard deviation of health expenditure around the European average, while by β-convergence we mean a faster growth in health expenditure for countries with low initial expenditure compared to countries with high initial expenditure. | el_GR |
