| dc.description.abstract | Το συνεχές αυξανόμενο παγκόσμιο ενδιαφέρον για την εξεύρεση βιώσιμων υποκατάστατων για τα συμβατικά καύσιμα αλλά και για την κάλυψη των ενεργειακών αναγκών με τρόπο φιλικό προς το περιβάλλον τρόπο, έστρεψε την προσοχή σε μία από τις εναλλακτικές πηγές ενέργειας, τη βιοενέργεια. Η προοπτική αλλά και η σημασία της βιοενέργειας και πιο συγκεκριμένα των βιοκαυσίμων φαίνεται να είναι τεράστια, από οικονομικής, κοινωνικής και περιβαλλοντικής άποψης.
Η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση επιδιώκει να προάγει τη χρήση βιοκαυσίμων ή άλλων ανανεώσιμων καυσίμων προς αντικατάσταση του πετρελαίου ντίζελ και της βενζίνης στις μεταφορές σε κάθε κράτος μέλος, προκειμένου να συμβάλει στην επίτευξη στόχων όπως η τήρηση των δεσμεύσεων σχετικά με τις κλιματικές μεταβολές, η φιλική προς το περιβάλλον ασφάλεια του εφοδιασμού και η προώθηση ανανεώσιμων πηγών ενέργειας.
Σκοπός της παρούσας μεταπτυχιακής εργασίας είναι να εντοπίσει τα κοινωνικά, περιβαλλοντικά και οικονομικά ζητήματα που προκύπτουν από την παραγωγή και χρήση των βιοκαυσίμων όπως επίσης ποιά είναι η στάση και η απόψη των πολιτών ως προς τη χρήση τους. Επίσης γίνεται μια εισαγωγή στα σημαντικότερα βιοκαύσιμα και άναλυση της κατάστασης που επικρατεί παγκοσμίως. Για τη διεξαγωγή της έρευνας χρησιμοποιήθηκε ως ερευνητικό εργαλείο, ερωτηματολόγιο με ερωτήσεις κλειστού τύπου. Η έρευνα πραγματοποιήθηκε στην Kύπρο, μεσω της online υπηρεσιας Google Forms, τους μήνες Φεβρουάριο και Μάρτιο 2016 και εξετάζει τις απόψεις 414 πολιτών ως προ τα βιοκαύσιμα.
Τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας κατέδειξαν ότι η ανησυχία για ενεργειακή επάρκεια και
κυρίως οι υψηλές τιμές των καυσίμων κίνησης καθιστούν τα βιοκαύσιμα ως μια κοινά αποδεκτή εναλλακτική λύση. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The continuous increasing global interest in finding sustainable alternatives to conventional fuels, but to meet also the energy needs in an environmentally friendly way, turned its attention to one alternative energy sources, bioenergy. The perspective and the importance of bioenergy and particularly biofuels seem to be enormous, in economic, social and environmental terms.
The European Union aims at promoting the use of biofuels or other renewable fuels to replace diesel and petrol for transport purposes in each Member State in order to help achieve objectives such as promoting renewable energy sources, meeting the commitments on climate change and environmentally friendly supply safety.
The dissertation aims to identify the social, environmental and economic issues arising from the production and use of biofuels and the attitude and opinion of citizens on biofuels use. It also provides an introduction on the most well known biofuels and an analysis of the situation worldwide. To conduct the survey, a questionnaire was used as research tool. The survey took place in Cyprus through Google Forms online service, was conducted during February and March 2016 and examines the view of 414 citizens as pre biofuels.
The survey results showed that the concern for energy efficiency and particularly the high prices of motor fuels make biofuels as a mutually acceptable alternative. | el_GR |
