| dc.description.abstract | Η εργασία αυτή έχει ως στόχο την χαρτογράφηση των γεγονότων και στην ανάλυση των αιτιών που επενέργησαν στη μεταφορά της διεθνούς οικονομικής κρίσης στην Κύπρο. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δόθηκε στην επίδραση που δέχτηκαν από αυτήν οι Μικρομεσαίες Επιχειρήσεις (ΜΜΕ), και η συμβολή τους στην μείωση της απασχόλησης στην Κύπρο.
Η μεθοδολογία έρευνας που ακολουθήθηκε επιλέχθηκε για να μπορέσει να δώσει τις πιο ακριβής και εμπεριστατωμένες απαντήσεις στους στόχους που τέθηκαν. Συγκεκριμένα, μελετήθηκε το θεωρητικό υπόβαθρο γύρω από την τρέχουσα οικονομική κρίση που αντιμετώπισαν οι ΜΜΕ, επεξήγηση των ΜΜΕ σύμφωνα με την διεθνή βιβλιογραφία, και την ανεργία. Για την επίτευξη του στόχου αυτού, διενεργήθηκε Παγκύπρια έρευνα με την χρήση ερωτηματολογίου, το οποίο αποστάλθηκε με ηλεκτρονικό ταχυδρομείο σε διάφορες ΜΜΕ της Κύπρου. Επίσης, έγινε τυχαία επιλογή Μικρομεσαίων Επιχειρήσεων, χωρίς γεωγραφικό περιορισμό ή πεδίο δραστηριοποίησης. Για πιο στοχευόμενα αποτελέσματα, δόθηκαν συγκεκριμένα ερωτήματα, τα οποία σχετίζονταν άμεσα με τις προκλήσεις που είχαν να αντιμετωπίσουν οι ΜΜΕ κατά τη διάρκεια της κρίσης. Ειδικότερα, δόθηκε σημασία στο πως η κρίση επηρέασε τις ΜΜΕ μετά το Κυπριακό «Bail-in», τι προσπάθειες κατέβαλαν προς αντιμετώπιση των δυσχερειών και πως επηρεάστηκαν οι θέσεις απασχόλησης στις επιχειρήσεις όπου δόθηκαν τα ερωτηματολόγια, μέσα στο δυσμενή επιχειρηματικό περιβάλλον της περιόδου.
Τα συμπεράσματα της ανάλυσης που προηγήθηκε έδωσαν αρκετά ξεκάθαρες απαντήσεις στα ερωτήματα που τέθηκαν εξαρχής. Από την ανάλυση των δεδομένων αποδείχθηκε ότι οι ΜΜΕ επηρεάστηκαν σε μεγάλο βαθμό από την οικονομική κρίση και συνέβαλαν σε σημαντικό βαθμό στην αύξηση της ανεργία στην Κυπριακή αγορά. Σε αυτό το γεγονός συνέβαλαν το γεγονός ότι οι Κυπριακές ΜΜΕ ήταν ανέτοιμες και προέβησαν σε σοβαρά στρατηγικά λάθη από μέρους των ΜΜΕ. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | This assignment has a main purpose to map the events and analyze the reasons for the transfer of the global financial crisis in Cyprus. Special consideration was given to the way the current financial crisis affected the Cyprus small medium enterprises (SMEs), and how they contributed to the increase of unemployment in Cyprus market.
The research methodology followed to provide accurate and circumstantial evidence to the goals of the presented assignment originally determined. Specifically, it was a made literature review for the explanation of the definition for SMEs as this putted forward by international bibliography, go through the sub-prime financial crisis of 2007 and what went wrong, how the European SMEs were affected by it, and an explanation of the concept of unemployment. To meet the goals of this assignment it was carried out a research throughout Cyprus using a well-structured questionnaire that sent to a proper sample of Cyprus SMEs by email. The selection of the SMEs was made in a random base. For more accurate and specific results, the questionnaire included specific questions that help the researcher to extract useful conclusions. Emphasis was given to the way the financial crisis affected the Cyprus SMEs, what measures they took to face its consequences, and how the employment was affected to these enterprises.
The conclusions came out by the analysis followed, gave clear answers to the research questions. The data analysis indicate that the current financial crisis affected to an important degree the Cyprus SMEs and contribute to the increase of Cyprus unemployment. To this fact key role played the fact that Cyprus SMEs were unready and made important strategic mistakes during the decades preceding the financial crisis. | el_GR |
