| dc.description.abstract | Ο επαναπατρισμός αρχαιοτήτων στις χώρες προέλευσης τους είναι ένα σύνθετο ζήτημα που απασχολεί την διεθνή κοινότητα. Αρχαιολογικοί τόποι έχουν λεηλατηθεί στο παρελθόν και πολιτιστικά αγαθά έχουν μεταφερθεί μακριά από την χώρα που τα δημιούργησε. Πολλά από αυτά ανήκουν σήμερα στις συλλογές οικουμενικών μουσείων της Δύσης και οι χώρες από τις οποίες προήλθαν διεκδικούν την επιστροφή τους. Αυτό δεν είναι ένα εύκολο εγχείρημα γιατί προσκρούει στα συμφέροντα των χωρών και των μουσείων που φιλοξενούν τώρα τα αυτά τα αγαθά.
Στα επιχειρήματα των χωρών προέλευσης τονίζεται ο ρόλος της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς στην διαμόρφωση της ιδιαίτερης κουλτούρας του κάθε λαού. Αυτός ο ρόλος όμως, ανάγεται στις προεκτάσεις του στην σχέση που διέπει τις αρχαιότητες και την πολιτιστική κληρονομιά με την ανάδυση των πρώτων εθνικών κρατών στις αρχές του 19ο αιώνα. Πρόκειται για μια σχέση που παράγει επιχειρήματα πολιτιστικού εθνικισμού τα οποία αντιπαραβάλλονται με επιχειρήματα πολιτιστικού διεθνισμού στην συζήτηση για την πολιτιστική διαχείριση των αιτημάτων επαναπατρισμού αρχαιοτήτων. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The repatriation of antiquities to their countries of origin is a complex issue that concerns the international community. Archaeological sites have been looted in the past and cultural goods have been transported far from the country that created them. Many of them now belong to the collections of ecumenical museums of the West, and the countries from which they came claim their return. This is not an easy task because it conflicts with the interests of the countries and museums that now host these goods.
In the arguments of the countries of origin, the role of cultural heritage in shaping the particular culture of each people is emphasized. This role, however, goes back to its extensions in the relationship that governs antiquities and cultural heritage with the emergence of the first nation states at the beginning of the 19th century. It is a relationship that produces arguments of cultural nationalism which are contrasted with arguments of cultural internationalism in the debate on the cultural management of antiquities repatriation requests. | el_GR |
