| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα διατριβή αποσκοπεί στην παρουσίαση του αναγκαίου σχεδιασμού προκειμένου μια επιχειρηματική ιδέα που απώτερο σκοπό έχει την δημιουργία και την λειτουργία σύγχρονων αθλητικών εγκαταστάσεων PADEL στην Κύπρο (Λευκωσία) να υλοποιηθεί στην πράξη.
Επιγραμματικά αναφέρεται σε αυτό το σημείο ότι το PADEL αποτελεί ένα παιχνίδι που προσομοιάζει τα χαρακτηριστικά του tennis με κύριες διαφορές ότι:
● διεξάγεται σε πιο μικρό γήπεδο
● οι κανόνες του επιτρέπουν περισσότερη ελευθερία κινήσεων εντός και εκτός του χώρου παιχνιδιού (“συμμετέχει” και η περίφραξη του γηπέδου)
● ιδανικά συμμετέχουν πάντα 4 παίκτες (2 σε κάθε ομάδα)
Αυτές οι διαφορές το έχουν κάνει πολύ πιο προσιτό σε όλους καθώς μαθαίνεται γρήγορα, ευνοεί την κοινωνικοποίηση και δεν απαιτείται φυσική κατάσταση υψηλού επιπέδου για να το απολαύσουν οι παίκτες. Ανα τον κόσμο, εκτιμάται ότι υπάρχουν πάνω από 25 εκατομμύρια παίκτες PADEL ενώ υπολογίζεται ότι τα υφιστάμενα γήπεδα παγκοσμίως θα διπλασιαστούν από 40,000 σε πάνω από 80,000 μέχρι το 2026 (Deloitte, 2023).
Σημαντικό κίνητρο πίσω από την εκπόνηση της παρούσας μεταπτυχιακής διατριβής, υπήρξε το ερώτημα αν ή γιατί η διείσδυση / δημοφιλία του εν λόγω αθλήματος φαινόταν να υστερεί κάπως στην Κύπρο τα προηγούμενα χρόνια (σε σχέση με το εξωτερικό). Κατ’ επέκταση ακολούθησαν συναφή ερωτήματα όπως ποιά είναι η τωρινή κατάσταση του αθλήματος στην Κύπρο, πως αναμένεται να κινηθεί μελλοντικά και τι προοπτικές θα είχε μια επένδυση σε αυτό τον χώρο.
Έτσι παρουσιάστηκε η ανάγκη μιας πιο εμπεριστατωμένης μελέτης των διαφόρων παραμέτρων που ενδέχεται να καθορίσουν τον βαθμό βιωσιμότητας ενός τέτοιου πρότζεκτ. Μελετώντας την αγορά, τον ανταγωνισμό και τις ευρύτερες κοινωνικοοικονομικές συνθήκες, το επιχειρηματικό πλάνο που θα προκύψει θα χρησιμέψει στο να παρθούν ζυγισμένες και καλά ενημερωμένες αποφάσεις από τους επιχειρηματίες.
Το τελικό ζητούμενο είναι να υπολογιστεί κατά πόσον, τη δεδομένη στιγμή, οι προοπτικές (τα οφέλη) ενός τέτοιου εγχειρήματος υπερτερούν του υπολογιζόμενου κόστους ούτως ώστε να προχωρήσει η επιχειρηματική ιδέα και να μετουσιωθεί σε πράξη. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The current dissertation aims to outline the necessary project business planning steps in order for a venture aiming to develop and operate modern PADEL sports facilities in Cyprus (Nicosia) to materialize.
The sport of PADEL has characteristics closely resembling the game of Tennis with key differences being that:
● the court is smaller
● the rules are less restrictive within the playing space (e.g. 'playing off' the perimeter wall of the court is valid)
● it is ideally played by two doubles teams (2 players in each team)
These differential aspects make it more accessible to a wider segment of the population as it is easy to learn playing it, promotes socializing and does not require particularly high levels of fitness for the participants to enjoy it.
Across the world, it is believed that there are over 25 million active PADEL players while it is estimated that PADEL courts will double globally from 40,000 to more than 80,000 until 2026 (Deloitte, 2023).
An important motivation behind coming up with this dissertation topic has been the question if indeed or whether the penetration / popularity of this sport in Cyprus has been somewhat lagging behind the international trend in recent years. Following on from that, subsequent research questions emerged regarding the current and future status of the PADEL market in Cyprus and the prospects that an investment in this space would have.
Thus, the need for a more detailed analysis of the various factors that would affect the commercial viability of such a project was born. By studying the market, the competition and the wider socio-economic environment, the resulting business plan will help the prospective investors make calibrated well-informed decisions.
The ultimate aim is to determine whether, at the current state of affairs, the prospects (benefits) of such a venture outweigh the estimated costs so that the business idea can materialize into an actual enterprise. | el_GR |
