| dc.description.abstract | Στόχος της παρούσας μεταπτυχιακής διατριβής είναι η διερεύνηση του ρόλου της θεατρικής διαδικασίας στην ανάπτυξη αυτογνωσίας και ενσυναίσθησης στους ενήλικες που συμμετέχουν σε μία ερασιτεχνική θεατρική ομάδα με πολυετή λειτουργία στην Αθήνα, καθώς επίσης και η μελέτη της λειτουργίας της ως περιβάλλον άτυπης μάθησης και μετάδοσης πολιτισμού. Η ερευνητική μεθοδολογία που ακολουθήθηκε είναι η ποιοτική προσέγγιση και συγκεκριμένα η μελέτη περίπτωσης μιας ερασιτεχνικής θεατρικής ομάδας, ώστε να αναλυθούν σε βάθος οι απόψεις, οι αντιλήψεις και οι εμπειρίες των συμμετεχόντων στην έρευνα. Με την παρούσα έρευνα δίνεται η δυνατότητα να συμπληρωθούν αποτελέσματα αντίστοιχων ποσοτικών ερευνών, ώστε να εξαχθούν πιο ολοκληρωμένα επιστημονικά συμπεράσματα. Ο πληθυσμός – στόχος είναι οι σκηνοθέτες – καθηγητές και τα μέλη του θεατρικού εργαστηρίου που επιλέχθηκε, καθώς λειτουργεί εδώ και 25 χρόνια. Τα εργαλεία συλλογής δεδομένων που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν είναι ατομικές και ομαδικές συνεντεύξεις (ομάδες εστίασης) καθώς και η συλλογή αρχείων (ντοκουμέντων).
Τα αποτελέσματα που προκύπτουν από την παρούσα έρευνα και αφορούν στη μελέτη περίπτωσης της ερασιτεχνικής θεατρικής ομάδας είναι ότι: α) οι συμμετέχοντες στην ερασιτεχνική θεατρική ομάδα φαίνεται να μετέχουν σε διαδικασία άτυπης μάθησης, αφού διευρύνουν τις γνώσεις τους και επαναπροσδιορίζουν απόψεις, αντιλήψεις και στάσεις ζωής β) η ερασιτεχνική θεατρική ομάδα φαίνεται να αποτελεί φορέα διάδοσης γνώσεων που αφορούν τον πολιτισμό, καθώς τα μέλη της διευρύνουν τις γνώσεις τους για την τέχνη, το θέατρο, την ιστορία και την κοινωνία, γ) η συμμετοχή ενηλίκων στην ερασιτεχνική θεατρική ομάδα φαίνεται να αυξάνει το επίπεδο της ενσυναίσθησης, εφόσον οι συμμετέχοντες αντιλαμβάνονται καλύτερα τη θέση των άλλων και δ) η ενασχόληση των συμμετεχόντων στην ερασιτεχνική θεατρική ομάδα φαίνεται, τέλος, να συμβάλλει στην ανάπτυξη της αυτογνωσίας, αφού με τη μελέτη και την ενσάρκωση ρόλων, οι συμμετέχοντες οδηγούνται στην ενδοσκόπηση και την ανάλυση του χαρακτήρα τους και ανακαλύπτουν νέες πτυχές της προσωπικότητάς τους.

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The aim of this dissertation is the exploration of the role of the theatrical process in the development of self-awareness and empathy in adults who participate in an amateur theater group that has been in operation for many years in Athens and the study of its function as an environment of informal learning and cultural transference. Within a qualitative research methodology, a case study of an amateur theater group was conducted, in order to perform a holistic, in-depth analysis of the various perspectives, beliefs and experiences of the participants. It is the hope of this researcher that the results of this paper may also be of assistance in the completion of other respective quantitative research regarding this issue, with a view to aid in the extraction of more complete scientific conclusions. The target group is the directors/teachers and participants of the theater workshop. This workshop was chosen because it has been in operation for 25 years. The tools used for the collection of data were individual and group interviews (focus groups) as well as data collection (documents).
The findings of this research, which concern the case study of the amateur theater group, are that: a) it seems that the participants of the amateur theater group take part in the process of informal learning, since they broaden their knowledge and redefine their points of view, beliefs and way of life, b) the amateur theater group may constitute an agent of transference of cultural awareness, as its participants broaden their knowledge on arts, theater, history and society, c) the participation of adults in the amateur theater group seems to increase their level of empathy, since participants are provided with an opportunity to place themselves in other people’s situations and d) participation in the amateur theater group seems to contribute in increasing self-awareness, as through the analysis and portrayal of their roles, the participants are driven to an introspectiveness, the analysis of their own personality, and the discovery of new facets of their character.
