| dc.description.abstract | Στη σημερινή εποχή η τεχνολογία εξελίσσεται ραγδαία και ολοένα και περισσότερες καινοτόμες συσκευές και εφαρμογές αναπτύσσονται. Όλες αυτές οι συσκευές για να μπορέσουν να αλληλοεπιδρούν τόσο μεταξύ τους όσο και με τον άνθρωπο, θα πρέπει να συνδεθούν σε ένα κοινό σύστημα. Έτσι, «γεννήθηκε» το ΙΟΤ και υπολογίζεται πως έως και το 2020 είκοσι δισεκατομμύρια συσκευές θα σχετίζονται με αυτό ενώ ο αριθμός των διασυνδέσεων του διαδικτύου θα ανέλθει σε είκοσι επτά δισεκατομμύρια έως το 2025. Το ΙΟΤ δίνει τη δυνατότητα της αύξησης της ποιότητας της ζωής των ανθρώπων και τη διευκόλυνση της καθημερινότητάς τους.
Στην παρούσα εργασία παρουσιάζεται το διαδίκτυο των πραγμάτων (ΙΟΤ) στην Ελλάδα δίνοντας έμφαση στις ευπαθείς ομάδες. Επιπλέον, γίνεται αναφορά στα προβλήματα ασφάλειας του ΙΟΤ καθώς και το μερίδιο αγοράς των συσκευών ΙΟΤ. Τέλος, παρουσιάζεται η έρευνα που πραγματοποιήθηκε σε ηλικιωμένους (ηλικίας 65 ετών και άνω) σχετικά με το ΙΟΤ και τις εφαρμογές αυτού.

| dc.description.translatedabstract | Nowadays, technology is evolving rapidly and more and more innovative devices and applications are being developed. All of these devices can be connected to each other and to a common system in order to be able to interact with each other and the humans. This how IOT was "born" and it is estimated that by 2020 twenty billion devices will be connected to it while the number of internet connections will reach twenty seven billion by 2025. IOT enables the increase of the quality of life people and the facilitation of their daily lives.
This paper presents the internet of things (IOT) in Greece and the role of it to the vulnerable groups. In addition, IOT security issues as well as the market share of IOT devices are reported. Finally, the results of the research that conducted for the present work in elderly people (aged 65 and over) on IOT and its applications are presented.
