| dc.description.abstract | Η Μεταπτυχιακή Διατριβή έχει ως αντικείμενο τη λειτουργία του πανεπιστημίου ως φορέα συνεχιζόμενης εκπαίδευσης και δια βίου μάθησης και την επίδραση των προγραμμάτων διά βίου μάθησης σε αυτή. Ως μελέτη περίπτωσης εξετάζεται η δομή δια βίου μάθησης του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών (Ε.Κ.Π.Α.).
Η δια βίου μάθηση χαρακτηρίζεται από την αντίληψη ότι η μάθηση πραγματώνεται καθ’ όλη την διάρκεια της ζωής του ατόμου και ως εκ τούτου όλες οι βαθμίδες τις εκπαίδευσης και όλοι οι φορείς τυπικοί ή άτυποι μπορεί να έχουν ρόλο σε αυτή την διαδικασία της διαρκούς μάθησης. Επικεντρωθήκαμε στο γιατί καλείται να παίξει σημαντικό ρόλο στην ιδέα της δια βίου μάθησης ως φορέα που χαρακτηρίζεται από υψηλό γνωστικό επίπεδο εγκυρότητας, κύρους αλλά και μεγίστης συνεισφοράς στην επαγγελματική ανάπτυξη και απασχόληση των ατόμων.
Μέρος της Μεταπτυχιακής Διατριβής αφιερώνεται στην καταγραφή της Ευρωπαϊκής και Ελληνικής Εκπαιδευτικής Πολιτικής και νομοθεσίας σε σχέση με τη δια βίου μάθηση και την ένταξή της στο χώρο Ανώτατης Εκπαίδευσης. Στην ποιοτική έρευνα επικεντρωθήκαμε στις συνεντεύξεις με του/τις Ακαδημαϊκούς/κες Υπεύθυνους/νες και στην μελέτη του έντυπου υλικού των προγραμμάτων δια βίου μάθησης του Ε.Κ.Π.Α.
Το ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον αυτής της μελέτης έχει να κάνει με την περιορισμένη έρευνα που έχει διεξαχθεί στην Ελλάδα σε σχέση την ανταπόκριση του πανεπιστήμιου στον νέο ρόλο που καλείται να διαδραματίσει ως φορέας δια βίου μάθησης και πιο συγκεκριμένα ο βαθμός και ο τρόπος με τον οποίο το εξεταζόμενο πανεπιστήμιο (Ε.Κ.Π.Α.) εφαρμόζει την παροχή της συνεχιζόμενης εκπαίδευσης και δια βίου μάθησης μέσα από προγράμματα εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The aim of this dissertation is to explore the role of the university in continuous education and lifelong learning, as well as the impact of lifelong learning programmes within the university on the above role. We focus on the examination of the lifelong learning programme of the National and Kapodestrian University of Athens.
Lifelong learning is characterized by the concept that learning takes place throughout the lifespan and consequently all educational levels, both formal, non formal and informal can have a part in this process of constant learning. We focused on university education, as it is an education sector that is characterized by a high level of status and contribution to the professional development.
The first part of the dissertation is about the research of European and greek ecucation policy concerning lifelong learning in higher education. The second part is a qualitative research, that is based on interviews of academic coordinators and on the analysis of the description papers of the lifelong programmes of the University of Athens.
What is of interest in this dissertation is that there is a limited amount of research in Greece about the response of the universities in lifelong learning and their role in conducting lifelong learning programmes, especially considering the degree and the way that the University of Athens implements and delivers continuous education and lifelong learning through e-learning programmes.
