In the following dissertation the importance of narration and fairy tales in children's lives and education is being discussed. Later, the Grimm's fairy tales are approached along with the ways they are analyzed by the scholars. Main focus was given to the stereotypes related to the female gender and their suppressive mechanisms, often violent, with the aim of harmonizing with the marital and maternal etiquette. Then, a presentation followed of the ways Theatre/ Drama in Education can promote the narrative/ fairy tale/ story and the need of deconstructing stereotypes within the logic of fairy tale revision. Theatre/ Drama in Education can work as a place of fostering ideas of revision and approach them through various techniques and conventions. Finally, a fairy tale of our own is put forward, with a revising viewpoint, as well as some techniques of Theatre/ Drama in Education through which it could be applied. The gathering of the material was mainly through books and research articles. The results of the research highlighted the importance of narrative in organizing our personal stories as well as in the idea of who we are, and led to the necessity of fairy tale revision, as an act of empowerment. Since, according to Jack Zipes, “We all want to narrate our lives, but very few of us have been given the techniques and insight that can help us form plots to reach our goals. We need to learn strategies of narration when we are very young in order to grasp that we can become our own narrators, the storyteller of our lives … and try to put the dreams of our lives into effect” (Zipes 1995: 4).el_GR
