| dc.description.abstract | Σκοπός της μεταπτυχιακής διατριβής είναι η ανάδειξη της πολιτιστικής προσφοράς των
χρηματοπιστωτικών ιδρυμάτων, τόσο του εξωτερικού όσο και της Ελλάδας, μέσα από
τη διαφορετική αλλά πλούσια παρουσία τους στα πολιτιστικά δρώμενα της χώρας
όπου δραστηριοποιούνται. Η έρευνα αναφορικά με τα κίνητρα και τους τομείς
ενδιαφέροντος των τραπεζών στον πολιτισμό, επιτρέπει την κατανόηση των
ωφελημάτων που το χρηματοπιστωτικό σύστημα προσδοκά σε κάθε κοινωνικό-
ιστορική περίοδο.
Για την κατανόηση των πρακτικών που χρησιμοποιούν οι τράπεζες για την οικονομική
στήριξη των τεχνών και του πολιτισμού, επιδιώκεται η αποσαφήνιση των όρων και του
πλαισίου λειτουργίας της χορηγίας, της δωρεάς και του ευρύτατα διαδεδομένου
επιχειρηματικού όρου, της εταιρικής κοινωνικής ευθύνης.
Η μελέτη της περίπτωσης του Κέντρου Πολιτισμού Έρευνας και Τεκμηρίωσης της
Τράπεζας της Ελλάδος αναδεικνύει την πολυσχιδή δράση της πέραν των συμβατικών
δραστηριοτήτων ως κεντρικής τράπεζας, όπως η παρακολούθηση της νομισματικής
κυκλοφορίας, η έκδοση χρήματος, η εποπτεία των εμπορικών τραπεζών, η
παρακολούθηση των συναλλαγματικών διαθεσίμων και χρυσού της χώρας, κ.ά.
Η κριτική αποτίμηση του έργου του Κέντρου Πολιτισμού Έρευνας και Τεκμηρίωσης της
ΤτΕ προσφέρει τη δυνατότητα κατάθεσης προτάσεων νέων δράσεων, οπτικών και
πρακτικών, συνδέοντας τη γνώση του παρελθόντος με τις προκλήσεις του μέλλοντος. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | This postgraduate dissertation aims to highlight the cultural contribution of financial
institutions, through their diverse yet multilateral activities, to the sustainable
development of the country in which they operate. In order to fully understand the
benefits that financial institutions anticipate through their cultural policies, one should
closely examine their incentives for defining cultural frameworks as well as the specific
cultural areas that the Bank’s promote, in each phase of the country’s socio-political
history.
Within this context, the terms “sponsorship”, “donation” as well as the widespread in
business area, term of “corporate social responsibility” are defined to enable a
comprehensive review of the practices that the Banks employ to promote arts and
culture.
The review of the case of the Center for Culture, Research and Documentation of the
Bank of Greece offers the opportunity to emphasize on the Bank’s multifaceted activities
which go beyond its conventional role as a central bank that includes monetary
monitoring, money issuance, banking supervision, public’s foreign exchange and gold
reserve monitoring, etc.
The critical assessment of the work of the Center for Culture, Research and
Documentation of the Bank of Greece affords the proposal for the implementation of
new actions, activities and practices that link the knowledge of the past with the
