| dc.description.abstract | Η έννοια της συνείδησης απασχόλησε τόσο το λογοτεχνικό όσο και το φιλοσοφικό λόγο. Η φαινομενολογία, κλάδος της φιλοσοφίας, στοχεύει στην καθολική αξίωση του όρου. Η λογοτεχνία θέλοντας να αυτονομηθεί, εφευρίσκει την τεχνική του εωτερικού μονόλογου για να περιγράψει τη συνείδηση και να αποκαλύψει το τοπίο της ανθρώπινης ψυχής.
Σαφής στόχος της μεταπτυχιακής διατριβής, είναι να καταδείξει μέσα απο τη συνεξέταση των δυο λόγων πως προσδιόρισε ο μοντερνισμός που εκδηλώθηκε στην Ευρώπη απο τα τέλη του 19ου μέχρι και τις αρχές του 20ου αιώνα την έννοια της συνείδησης.
Η αναζήτηση αυτή, επηρεάζεται απο τις ανακατάξεις που γίνονται στην Ευρώπη στις αρχές του εικοστού αιώνα, απορρίπτουν το ρεαλιστικό μυθιστόρημα και στρέφονται προς την εσωτερικότητα. Ταυτόχρονα, η ανάπτυξη της έρευνας των νευρολογικών λειτουργιών και της τεχνολογίας, δημιουργούν μια καινούργια θέαση της πραγματικότητας και αναπτύσσουν τη δική τους διαλεκτική με τη λογοτεχνία.
Στην παρούσα μεταπτυχιακή διατριβή, εξετάζουμε τρόπους απεικόνισης της συνείδησης με αναφορές σε σημαντικά έργα του ευρωπαϊκού μοντερνισμού στο Μαγικό Βουνο του Thomas Mann, στο αναζητώντας το χαμένο χρόνο του Marcel Proust και στον Οδυσσέα του Joyce.
Στην Ελλάδα ο Νίκος Γαβριήλ Πεντζίκης ένας απο τους σημαντικότερους λογοτέχνες της εποχής, αφού δέκτηκε επιδράσεις απο τους Ευρωπαίους μοντερνιστές δημιούργησς τη δική του εκδοχή μοντερνισμού. Στην παρούσα μεταπτυχιακή διατριβή, εξετάζουμε τις επιδράσεις αυτές καθώς, και πως λειτουργεί η θρησκεία στο έργο του, στην απεικόνιση της συνείδησης. | el_GR |

| dc.description.translatedabstract | The concept of consciousness has engaged not only the literary but the philosophical prose as well. Phenomenology, part of philosophy, aims at the thorough pretension of the term. Literature, wishing to gain its own autonomy, invents the technique of the internal monologue to describe consciousness and reveal the depth of the human soul.
The clear objective of this master’s thesis, is to identify, through the simultaneous examination of the two different kinds of prose, how the concept of consciousness has been determined by the trend of modernism which was expressed in Europe from the end of the nineteenth to the beginning of the twentieth century.
This quest, is affected by the upheavals that are taking place in Europe at the beginning of the century, which reject the realistic novel and turn to internalization. At the same time, the development of research in neurological functioning and technology, create a “new” perspective of reality and develop their own dialogue with literature.
In this master’s thesis, we examine techniques like the internal monologue with reference to significant works of european modernism like the “Magical Mountain” by Thomas Mann, the “Remembrance of Things Past” by Marcel Proust and “Ulysses” by Joyce.
Greece is familiarized with modernism quite later than 20 s. through the prosewriters of Salonica. Nikos Gavriel Pentzikis, one of the most outstanding literature writers of the era, created his own version of modernism after having been influenced by the European modernism writers. In this master’s thesis, we examine these influences as well as the way religion affects his work, in his effort to illustrate consciousness. | el_GR |
